Ductless Fume Hoods

Ductless Carbon Filters
Fume hoods and fume storage cabinets remove vapors, gases and dusts of toxic, flammable, corrosive or otherwise dangerous materials through the use of ductless carbon filters. They are among the most important safety equipment systems in the workplace.
Benefits of Ductless Technology
Ductless fume hoods and cabinets clean the air of hazardous chemicals using activated carbon filters. The self-contained units return clean, filtered air to the room and require no outside ventilation.
Ductless technology offers easy installation and a lower environmental impact. Enclosures are energy and space efficient as they do not require expensive ductwork. HEPA/ULPA filters, or other filter configurations, can also be added to ductless enclosures for added safety.
Important Considerations
Ductless technology is best suited to uses that produce relatively low volumes of harmful vapors. Because activated carbon filters have finite capacities, recirculating or ductless enclosures are not direct replacements for traditional externally ducted equipment.
Good housekeeping practices can help prolong the life of your filter. Chemical spills and solvent soaked cloths can produce large amounts of hazardous vapors that quickly consume filter capacity.
Service Interval Recommendations
It is always best to exercise caution and replace your ductless equipment filters if workplace medical complaints, such as chronic headaches or tiredness, arise.
Many manufacturers and equipment service organizations consider best practices to include changing ductless carbon filters at each inspection. The industry accepted Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations require inspection of equipment at internals no longer than 14 months.
