FILTER SPECIFICATIONS

About Filtco Replacement Filters

Our media and manufacturing processes have been perfected over several years to offer superior construction and performance. Assembly of our activated carbon filters is conducted under strictly controlled conditions.

Filtco replacement filters follow the recommendations of major manufacturers. Our replacement filters meet all minimum standards required by the original manufacturer and often go above and beyond these standards.

Filtration Efficiency

Our filters deliver an efficiency of 99.9% during their service life (to saturation), for all chemically active molecules/chemical materials, including most chemicals with a molecular weight above 30 and a boiling point above 60°C.

We maximize the efficiency of each carbon filter by assuring the quality of carbon media, the cartridge casing and the manufacturing method used.

Certain other chemicals also are well adsorbed by the carbon filters because of their molecular size and structure. Request the Chemical Absorbency Listings for Filtco activated carbon filters.

Carbon Media

Filtco’s activated carbon feedstock is carefully sourced and additives are thoroughly researched. See vapor handling for more information. Each activated carbon media batch is tested to verify optimized retention capacity and assure superior performance of finished carbon filters.

Carbon Filter Casings

Manufactured from reinforced thermoplastic, Filtco carbon filter casings are lightweight yet sturdy for ease of handling and installation. The casings provide high impact strength, excellent dimensional stability and superb chemical resistance. Casing geometry is configured with numerous chambers to help prevent settling or shifting of carbon media.

Carbon Filter Assembly

Each casing is filled with activated carbon media and tightly packed to avoid settling during shipment. Casings are then weighed to verify the proper amount of media needed to achieve target vapor retention capacity.

Filtco models that include pre-filters (particle or HEPA filters) come with no additional assembly. See Manufacturers Filter Types below for more details. The assembled carbon filter, with attached pre-filter (if applicable), is then packed into a heat sealed plastic bag and durable box for shipping.
